Digital Training Center

With DigiTank, we attended the official closing event of PorPorttSkill 4.0 at the Digital Training Center of ma-co maritimes competenzcentrum GmbH, funded as part of the IHATEC funding program of the German Federal Ministry of Transport.

After the welcome address, it quickly became clear that truly exciting results have been achieved over the past four years — results that also provide an important foundation for our own project.

A real highlight for us was the connected training session in the form of a live link between Bremen and Hamburg:

• In Bremen, a remotely controlled container crane was operated.

• In Hamburg, a colleague was virtually positioned in the “lashing basket,” guided from Bremen across a row of containers on the vessel.

For us, the visit was also important for a very specific reason. We had the opportunity to get to know the training environment that will also serve as the basis for our future DigiTank training sessions. We are already “on board” in spirit and look forward to implementing the concept in our new DigiTank training room.
